The Donner Party was way more fun than this....

Actually, not really, but the other day we had a shitty day at the Palomino (which will henceforth be referred to as whatever I feel like designating it at the time). We thought we would cruise into this weekend with open doors, expecting a little chaos and embracing said chaos, but the wonderful folks at the building department had different ideas. I'd go into details (really boring and annoying details), but basically we are delayed until Monday. That night I went to bed to a super dated (and impressive) documentary about the ill-fated pioneers on PBS (see earlier post about cable canceling) and it kinda fucked my night. The creepy narration about the horrific hardships those sad folks endured followed me into my dreams.

"The Forlorn Hope", goggle that shit.

So, the next day I was having a stupid pity party and trying to draw parallels from their situation to ours, which of course was a really ridiculous endeavor. After a strong cup of decaf i realized this and moved on to more important thoughts. Specifically, if I were really in a jam like those pioneers, who would I eat? My business partners don't really offer an enticing buffet of possibilities. While Cam has amazing culinary skills, as of late our collective diet has consisted mostly of pizza while we paint walls and wait for inpsectors....Mitch on the other hand, while not having a much better diet, has youth on his side. Both of them smoke cigarettes like beat poets on the verge of some deep revelation and it makes me wonder if cows chained smoked, would cheeseburgers taste gross or just a little smokey? Either way, I gotta step up and say Mitch would make the better cheeseburger. Sorry Mitch, or sorry Cam, not sure which of you should be offended.
Barring any catastrophes we should be open on Monday (ha) and either this stuff will get a lot more funny or really depressing. On that note watch this video because this dog will make any bad day alright......
